Our History
Formula K started as the third Grand Prix facility in the U.S., quickly recognizing the need for rides catering to all ages, not just those 16 and older. In 1976, dissatisfied with existing options, the company began manufacturing its own go-karts and Grand Prix cars, ultimately operating nine facilities across the country. This hands-on experience in track operations laid the foundation for Formula K's unique approach to kart and car production.
Over the next three decades, manufacturing became Formula K’s primary focus. With firsthand expertise in track design and facility construction, the company consistently refined its products to meet the evolving needs of track owners. Serving both newcomers and industry veterans, Formula K emphasized continuous innovation, striving for better performance, safety, and ease of maintenance.
Since its inception in 1975, Formula K has produced more than 14,000 go-karts, many of which remain operational and profitable for their owners today. The company not only services every kart it has built but also provides custom replacement parts for other manufacturers’ go-karts. Always aiming to improve, Formula K prioritizes innovation and safety in the family entertainment industry.
